Artwork Description
Bobby Bowes creates many sculptures of fruit and vegetables that he shows at events such as the annual Great Glass Farmers Market in Silicon Valley. The crackled surface of the glass resembles the tiny dimples and blemishes on the surface of a pear, and the bright tones capture the array of colors in a market display. The pear's exaggerated size evokes the giant specimens that compete for prizes at state fairs and agricultural shows.
