Celebrate fifty years of advancement, discovery, and scholarship in the field of art history through the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s preeminent fellowship program. Join us for a virtual symposium that chronicles the development and impact of the oldest and largest fellowship program in the world for American art. Enjoy learning about new research by distinguished former fellows and listen to a series of PechuKucha-style fast-paced talks that highlight efforts to expand the field in the age of Black Lives Matter, decolonization, climate change, globalization, and digital scholarship.
